Why support the Anglican Church in America and her missions?
The question of money and the Church is always difficult. As the authors of this site, we on the Finance Committee know this well as our main task is to deal with our church’s financial matters. It is so tough to say, “we are the Church of Jesus Christ…and we need the money.” But the church is an organization that exists in the world and to continue to bring the light of Jesus Christ into this fallen world we must have the resources to support the minimal structures necessary to grow and spread the Gospel, fulfilling our Lord’s Great Commission.
The current state of faith and morals in these United States makes our country one of the richest mission fields in the world. We ask you to consider supporting the missions of the Anglican Church in America as they fight the good fight, seeking to pass the Christian Faith on to the next generation and to secure a place in this land for the traditional Anglican way of being Christian.
But why the Anglican Church in America?
The Anglican Church in America is a collection of six dioceses – four domestic and two missionary – with their collected bishops, clergy and people. We have parishes and missions in nearly all the 50 States. Though spread out by many miles, our people think of themselves as a family. We take what we do on Sunday mornings very seriously, but we do not take ourselves too seriously. We try not to be fussy over the liturgy as Anglicans can occasionally be but we seek to cling tight to our traditions as our fathers have handed them down to us and to make our Lord and Savior the center of our worship.
As an institution, the Anglican Church in America has intentionally retained a very small national structure. Money given to an Anglican Church in America mission, parish, diocese or to the national church will go almost totally to support the direct work of the Church and not to support adminisitrative structures.
