One of the ways in which the Anglican Church in America supports her local domestic missions is through a system of small financial grants. Below are details on what steps a mission or congregation should take to request grant funds. These parameters were established by the Executive Council and the House of Bishops of the Anglican Church in America during Spring 2008.
Grants are available in the amount of $500, $1000, and $1500.
Grants should be used for the following purposes:
- Facilities and capital projects
- Advertising and marketing
- Supplies and equipment
- Special events
Grants should not be used for:
- Routine operating expenses
- Regular clergy stipends
- Support of non-mission related activities
Applying for a grant is simple! Just send a letter of application to the Finance Committee of the Executive Council detailing the amount your mission or congregation would like to request ($500, $1000 or $1500) and how your mission plans to use the funds (facilities and capital projects, advertising and marketing, supplies and equipments or special events). Please have the letter signed by your mission’s vicar or vestry/bishop’s committee/steering committee head and sent to the following address:
